The Future Fund today announced the appointment of Tony Day as Head of Strategy. Tony joins from QIC where his most recent role has been as Chief Strategist. Prior to his 12 years at QIC Tony held consulting and actuarial roles with Towers Perrin and AMP.

The Board of Guardians of the Future Fund confirms that it has met its previously stated objective of commencing its investment program by the end of June 2007. In doing so the Fund has taken care not to distort the market.

David is currently the Head of Investment Consulting at Watson Wyatt Australia and has led the team providing investment advisory services to the Future Fund since December 2006. On 10 May 2007 the Future Fund Board of Guardians announced that Northern Trust Corporation had been selected to provide global custody services to the Future Fund following a rigorous and competitive tender process.
The Future Fund Board of Guardians has selected Northern Trust Corporation (Northern Trust) as its global custodian. Northern Trust will be responsible for the provision of custody and related services to the Fund.

In August 2006 the Future Fund released a Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the services of a Custodian. Following the receipt and evaluation of responses, the Future Fund has decided to engage Thomas Murray Limited, a London based firm specialising in the global securities services industry, to assist internal staff in the process of selecting a Custodian.
On 14 August 2006 the Future Fund released a Request for Tender for the services of an asset consultant. Following the completion of the evaluation process, the Future Fund Board of Guardians has selected Watson Wyatt for this role.
